On Saturday, October 18th, a crowd of around 200 people was expected in the small town of Platte City, Missouri, the county seat of Platte County. Imagine how excited we were to have over 500 people come together to say “No Kings in America”! It was a joyous day filled with laughter and chants and, most notably, there were many more cars honking than people yelling at us. How exciting! We had veterans, young people, grandparents, families – even dogs joining together for democracy. All were happy that we had the event in our county as they understand the critical need to turn Platte County blue. We even had Kansans join us from across the river in Leavenworth!
